Proposed Cricket Stadium: Oswego Residents Share Their Opinions

OSWEGO, IL — A Chicago-based consulting agency is proposing to build a 24,000-seat cricket stadium off Orchard Road in Oswego, and residents have a lot to say about it.

The proposed Breybourne Stadium would be built on 33.48 acres of land at the northwest corner of Orchard Road and Tuscany Trail — a largely residential area near the Blackberry Knoll subdivision just west of the Fox River, Patch reported.

Plans include developing an outdoor professional cricket stadium with an associated clubhouse and restaurant, as well as a hotel and restaurant outlots fronting the Orchard Road corridor.

But the stadium would be more than just a home for cricket matches. Paresh Patel, the CEO of Chakra360, LLC, the consulting group petitioning the village, told Patch the stadium would also host national and international events.
