Remote Learning Implemented For D308 Students Due To Hazardous Roads

Students and staff shifted to a remote day of learning Tuesday as a result of icy road conditions, District 308 officials said.

OSWEGO, IL — Oswego School District 308 went remote Tuesday due to hazardous road conditions, officials announced.

Officials announced at about 5:30 a.m. that Tuesday is an e-learning day. Students were instructed to access their e-learning plans for more information about attendance, assignments and schedules. Junior high and high school students follow a regular bell schedule even when remote.

All building rentals and Kids Connection programs were also canceled Tuesday. Executive Director of Communications and Public Relations Theresa Komitas said any high school activities and athletics scheduled for the afternoon or evening will be determined later in the day.

"We have been advised by local emergency personnel to avoid travel, road conditions at this time are hazardous," Komitas wrote in an email. "Please stay safe."
