Sign Up Still Open For Gobbler Hobbler 10K, Mashed Potato Mile

OSWEGO, IL — Runners looking to race in a 10K will have the opportunity to do so Nov. 14 in Oswego, when the Oswegoland Park District-hosted Gobbler Hobbler 10K Run and Mashed Potato Mile return. Pre-registration that guarantees swag is open through Thursday.

The course will follow a path along the Foxx River and through downtown Oswego, beginning and ending at Fox Chase Elementary School. All pre-registered runners will receive a hoodie, refreshments and a finisher's medal.

After the race — the 10K begins at 8:30 a.m., the mile at 8:45 a.m. — runners can enjoy complimentary organizers' "famous walking pancakes."

Drivers on the following roads might experience delays from 7 a.m. to noon on the Sunday of the race, Oswego police said.

• Routes 25, 31 and 34
• Boulder Hill Pass
• Circle Drive West
• Ashlawn Avenue
• South Adams Street
• Washington Street
• Lynx Lane
• Fox Chase Drive North
• Century Drive
• Lennox Drive
• York Drive
• Shore Drive

Parking for the event will be available at Fox Chase Elementary, 260 Fox Chase Drive North, and at Wormley Heritage Park, 331 Century Drive, as well as the surrounding on-street parking.

The price to pre-register for the 10K is $45, and on day-of, it'll increase to $55. To run the Mashed Potato Mile, it costs $30, or $35 on race day. To register, interested runners can visit the park district's website.
