OSWEGO, IL — Oswego police are warning residents of a possible challenge in which teens kick or beat on doors before running away.

Police published a post on Facebook about the behavior — a twist on ding-dong-ditching — and said they took a report about it on Wednesday.

Officials said the behavior can be dangerous because a homeowner might arm themselves with weapons if they think an intruder is trying to break in. The elderly or people with medical conditions are also at risk, as they could suffer a severe or fatal medical issue, including a heart attack.
