There's Still Time To Catch Fall Festivals Near Oswego

OSWEGO, IL — Fall is a great time to get outside in Illinois and take in the rich offering of festivals.

The changing colors of autumn provide a scenic background for fall and harvest festivals, which have contests ranging from apple bobbing and pumpkin carving to lumberjack contests and Halloween parades.

Fall is also the season for corn mazes, pumpkin patches and apple orchard visits.

Here are a few festivals and events in and near Oswego worth putting on the calendar:

• Check out Halloween displays in Oswego. Plus, visit neighboring Plainfield to see the viral "Stranger Things"-themed sensation at a house off Route 59.
• Take part in Werk Force Brewing's formal Midnight at the Masquerade Oct. 21.
• Attend Oswego Brewing Co.'s final pop-up markets event Oct. 16.
• Stop by Oswego's Keller's Farmstand before its fall season ends Oct. 30. Activities include a vampire-themed corn maze, tire stacks, pumpkin and apple picking and more.
• Visit the Oswegoland Park District for fall-themed fun.
