Traughber Cross Country Teams Going To State

Students will compete at the IESA State Cross Country meet this weekend in Normal.

OSWEGO, IL — Last weekend, Traughber Junior High’s cross country runners captured third place in both the boys and girls Sectionals meet held at Kaneland. The placement paved the way for the runners to compete in the IESA State Cross Country meet this weekend in Normal.

This year marks the first time since Traughber joined the IESA that the school will be sending their sectionals’ teams. In prior years only individual team runners qualified for the meet.

The following athletes will be running on the girls’ team: Eighth graders, Hallie Fioresi, Sophia Marasco, Emma Sato, and Audra Soderlind; seventh graders, Kassadie Leasure and Kate Soderlind and sixth grader, Amaya Houston.

The alternates are eighth graders Amanda Farrow and Eleanor Engel, and seventh grader Erin Hartnett.

The boys’ will be represented by eighth graders Jett Breed, Will Kroener, Noah McIntyre, Brady Nelson, and Dallas Randall; seventh grader David Valkanov and sixth grader,. Bradley Stratton.

The boys alternates are eighth grader Alex Ward, seventh grader Patrick Jasinski, and sixth grader Matt Everix.
