Venue 1012 Lineup For Summer 2023: See What's Planned

From a country music bash to free concerts and movie showings, Venue 1012 is packed with activities meant to please the whole family.

OSWEGO, IL — With summer just over the horizon, Oswego unveiled this year's lineup for Venue 1012.

Three series — Thursday Night Concerts, Movies Under the Stars and Weekend Concerts — are returning this year, and each is packed with bands and screenings. All will take place at Oswego's now-two-year-old entertainment center, Venue 1012.

The season will kick off Memorial Day weekend, starting with Country Bash May 27 and a free concert by Springbrook's Oswego Pops Orchestra the following day.

"Get ready to celebrate the season with tons of entertainment options for all ages," Village President Troy Parlier said in a statement. "Venue 1012 is an awesome place to hang out [with] family and friends. This year’s lineup has music, movies and fun for everyone."

Weekend concerts

Some of the top regional acts will perform on certain Saturdays, with affordable ticket prices.

  • Country Bash: Oswego Honors Veterans, May 27
    • Featuring headliner Whiskeyfist and performances by Arlynn Band and Tim Gleason Band.
    • Tickets for the six-hour country music fest cost $20 for ages 13 and up. Admission is free for active military, veterans and children under the age of 12.
  • SEMPLE, with Fletcher Rockwell, June 10
    • Featuring performances of hit rock from the '70s, modern pop songs and original music.
    • Tickets cost $15 for ages 13 and up and $10 for active military and veterans. Children ages 12 and under can attend for free.
  • Boy Band Review, July 15
    • The ensemble will perform covers of chart-toppers by NSYNC, New Kids on the Block, BTS and more.
    • Tickets cost $15 for ages 13 and up and $10 for active military and veterans. Children ages 12 and under can attend for free.
  • Southern Accents, Aug. 5
    • A Tom Petty tribute band that "promises to look, live and play the part of the legendary rock band," village officials said.
    • Tickets cost $15 for ages 13 and up and $10 for active military and veterans. Children ages 12 and under can attend for free.

Thursday Night Concerts

The series is featuring concerts on select Thursdays, with music from the '60s, '70s, '80s, '90s, 2000s and today. For each show, the venue will open at 6 p.m., and the band will perform from 7-9 p.m.

  • June 1: Sealed with a Kiss (pop rock cover band)
  • June 29: Petty Cash (mix of Johnny Cash and Tom Petty hits)
  • July 6: Hillbilly Rockstarz (country)
  • July 27: The GooRoos (mix of decades and songs by Journey, Ed Sheeran, Dua Lipa, Queen and Led Zeppelin)
  • Aug. 17: Second Hand News (Fleetwood Mac tribute band)

Movies Under the Stars

On select Thursdays, free showings of family-favorite movies will be shown at Venue 1012.

  • June 22: "Minions: The Rise of Gru"
  • July 20: "Sonic the Hedgehog 2"
  • Aug. 10: "Puss in Boots"
