Say Goodbye To The Last Local Beerhead

The Schaumburg Beerhead is closing.

On June 29, Beerhead Bar & Eatery, 888 Meacham Road in Schaumburg, will close after ten years of proudly and happily serving authentic craft beers and specialty sandwiches, small plates, and pizza. The Schaumburg location is the last Beerhead in Illinois. A heartfelt letter of farewell from the Beerhead staff to the community is below.

To our customers, friends, and neighbors:

Schaumburg... what can we say! For years you have supported our love of our craft—and that’s beer! From our start in 2013 to our farewell in 2024 we have nothing more to say than Thank You for the unreal fortitude and continuous support through the growth of our business, and for playing a crucial role in bringing us through the COVID-19 Pandemic. We, as a community, have shown that we are built for the long run. Unfortunately, as our fate has now played out, we would like to be remembered as your favorite beer collective in the Schaumburg area. We remained the last standing Beerhead in Illinois for many years, but now, with a heavy heart, we must announce our withdrawal from the Schaumburg area and the great state of Illinois.

We've had a great run these past 10 years. Along with us, our customers have seen tornados, a farewell to Tom Skilling, and even an eclipse! But most importantly we are proud to have made a significant impact on our community through a number of memorable events: hosting animal shelters to get our furry friends adopted; raising money for ovarian cancer awareness (through Ride for Hope); hosting a celebration of life for the great Ruben Guerrero (the first man to run a crazy taco Tuesday next to the busiest Mexican restaurant in Schaumburg); supporting local industry personnel on St. Paddy’s day for Big J. And, sadly, we also made plans that we never got to see through. We are more than grateful to have been a part of the community. If you ever attended one of our Ballpark Brew Fests, we hope you had fun!

Schaumburg, you have been the greatest community we could ever ask for. Our customers became family. To our Paylocity and Marriott family, we thank you for all the support you have shown over the years. Our terrific staff has been generous and supportive throughout the whole process as we all prepared for our last dance. Ride for Hope: our staff will continue to support you from beyond the business. Thank you to Fat Rosie’s and their staff for always being supportive. Weber Grill, you have an amazing staff. To all members of the service industry in Schaumburg: never change. With a broken heart, we wish you the best. The Schaumburg industry scene has supported us from start to finish. Kuma's and Hooters you have always been supportive. Perry’s, Sayulita, Cheesecake! You all know who you are! And to our regulars, we have never felt more love and support than we have from you. We feel like you have accepted us all into your family. From the bottom of our hearts, with no regrets, we thank you deeply and wish you another 100 years of success in Schaumburg. We will all be watching from the front row as you continue to grow and create the most beautiful community any business could ever wish to be a part of. Tough times don’t last, tough people do and Schaumburg we apologize for not being tough enough to maintain your excellence. With the highest level of gratitude, Schaumburg thank you for an amazing 10 years of laughter, joy, and jubilation.
