PALOS PARK, IL – I am John Sawyer, and I am a retired Commander from the Palos Park Police Department. I retired in 2021 after over 30 years of service throughout the Village.

During my time serving the Village of Palos Park, you have probably talked with me or seen me at work. Nicole Milovich-Walters has supported the work of our Police Department during her sixteen years as Village Commissioner. She has battled for, promoting and supporting the Palos Park Police Foundation with fundraisers. The Palos Park Police Foundation is one of the few in Illinois, and helps support our officers by providing needed training and equipment that is not included in the general fund budget.

Nicole is intelligent, knowledgeable about all Village affairs, including the Police Department, and is a terrific example of the service mindset that I strived to achieve during my long career. Palos Park stays with you even after you move on from the Palos Park Police Department—the residents here are different, they really support their Police Department. I am grateful to have spent nearly my entire career in Palos Park. Preserve one of the best things about Palos Park—its Police Department—by supporting Nicole Milovich-Walters as your next Mayor of Palos.
