$1 Million Renovation At Oswego Best Western's Is Complete

The renovation included upgrades to all 64 guest rooms, as well as the fitness center, breakfast area and meeting room at the hotel.

OSWEGO, IL — Oswego's Best Western Hotel has completed its $1 million renovations, the hotel announced Wednesday, in time for Illinois's reopening and easing of its pandemic-related restrictions.

The project of redoing the hotel's interior and exterior started not long after the COVID-19 pandemic started in Illinois. Updates were made to install new bedding, carpeting, window treatments and artwork in the hotel's 64 guest rooms, which include 15 suites, according to a news release.

Rooms at the hotel, located at 2055 Wiesbrook Drive, now have more modern window treatments and Serta mattresses to keep up with "hotel trends toward more upscale decor at affordable price points."

"Overall, the hotel now has a more modern, updated look," Anita Patel, the hotel's manager, said in a statement. "It is pleasing to the eye, clean and sleek, and it does have a bit of a ‘wow’ factor that it didn’t have before."

The lobby was also fixed up to include a breakfast space with new cabinets and countertops, more seating and two communal tables for working. New wallpaper, carpeting and furniture was also added to the hotel's meeting room, which can hold 40 people.

"Functional space was really important to us in the renovation," Patel said. "With the workforce going remote in so many areas, it’s not just corporate guests who benefit from having a comfortable place to catch up on work."

The fitness center wasn't left out of the upgrades either — it's complete with new furniture.

Oswego's Best Western's grand re-opening is set for June 24.
