PLAINFIELD, IL — Plainfield East High School went under lockdown Thursday, Plainfield School District 202 officials confirmed to Patch.

Director of Community Relations Linda Taylor said the lockdown at the school at 12001 S. Naperville Road was " an accident," she wrote in an email.

Taylor said the school district does not have any other details. Plainfield East High School families were alerted about the incident via a message from District 202.
