Teen Accused Of Robbing Hopeful Cell Phone Buyer On South Side

Police say a south suburban teenager set up a meeting to sell a phone on the South Side and instead, robbed the buyer at gunpoint.

CHICAGO -- A 19-year-old south suburban man is due in court Wednesday on charges stemming from a January armed robbery in Chicago's Park Manor neighborhood on the South Side.

Police say Kenneth Armoni Sims, of the 12400 block of South Ashland Avenue in Calument Park, set up a Jan. 22 meeting through social media to sell a cell phone to a 56-year-old man, according to a Chicago Tribune report. He reportedly met the victim in the 7200 block of South Langley Avenue, pulled out a handgun, and took his property.

Sims was identified in a separate armed robbery less than a week later in that same block, the article said.
