Visit the World Famous 1893 Columbian Exposition VIKING SHIP on Saturday, August 17-the only day to see it this month! Based on an original, excavated 1,000 year old ship, our full size, 78 foot long Viking ship was hand-built in Norway in 1893. It was sailed by 12 hardy heroes non-stop across the stormy North Atlantic, to become the star attraction of the 1893 World's Fair in Chicago. Hear its exciting story, and learn the secrets of ancient Viking ship building, from our friendly and well informed docents.
Adults $7.00, teens 13-17 $4.00, 12 and under free. Tours start every 15 minutes, 10 AM to 3:45 PM, no reservations needed. Enjoy our hands-on collections of Viking-style clothing, jewelry, tools and weapons while waiting for your tour to start. Fun for the entire family.
SPECIAL THIS EVENT: Free lessons and demonstration of the exciting Scandinavian target game "KUBB" by the Energy City Kubb club. Noon to 2 PM.
Note-the ship is in a gravel floor facility: no flush toilets on site.
