'Meet the Moths' Program Coming To Hickory Knolls

ST. CHARLES, IL —Area residents can learn more about the many species of moths that inhabit Illinois at “Meet the Moths,” a part of the “Learn from the Experts” program series on Friday Sept. 6 at Hickory Knolls Discovery Center in St. Charles, according to a news release from the Forest Preserve District of Kane County. This program will begin with slides that will show some of the area’s more common moth families. The program will be held from 7:30 to 9 p.m. on Sept. 6 at Hickory Knolls Discovery Center, 3795 Campton Hills Drive in St. Charles.

Then, it will finish with a field session where participants will visit various stations that are outfitted with moth attractants, according to a news release.

Advance registration is required. The registration fee is $10 per person and those interested can register by calling 630-444-3190 or e-mailing [email protected].

The Forest Preserve District of Kane County teams up with the St. Charles Park District and the Geneva Park District to offer “Learn from the Experts” programs. These classes are for ages 18 and above, focusing on a variety of topics in local ecology, according to the news release.
