Colts Sunday Night Game Draws Near As WTHR Blackout Continues On DirecTV, U-verse

What it's looking like from both sides as WTHR owner Dispatch Broadcast Group and AT&T continue contract dispute, and therefore blackout.

INDIANAPOLIS, IN — DirecTV and U-Verse subscribers continue feeling the frustration of the ongoing contract dispute between the local NBC affiliate's parent company Dispatch Broadcast Group and AT&T, especially with WTHR-13's airing of the Indianapolis Colts game Sunday. The local NBC affiliate hasn't aired on the two AT&T-owned TV services since Sept. 6, leaving hundreds of thousands in Indianapolis favorite fall premieres, and possibly this weekend's fall premiere of "Saturday Night Live," and the "Sunday Night Football" game between the Colts and Seattle Seahawks, IndyStar reports.

IndyStar reports no agreement has been reached between the two as of Thursday afternoon.

WTHR's contact with AT&T expired in August, and while WTHR claims to be seeking a deal similar to what other broadcasters receive, AT&T insinuates blackouts are a result of station owners seeking higher fees.
