Indianapolis Hotel Prices Rise For Big Ten Football Championship

INDIANAPOLIS – One of the world's leading hotel price comparison platforms, HotelsCombined, is releasing information they gathered following the city's massive surge of guests for the Big Ten Football Championship game. The company says they conducted an analysis for this past weekend by looking at hotel prices in Indianapolis during the Big Ten festivities, to see how prices were affected by thousands of travelers who came in town for the game. HotelsCombined said according to their analysis a hotel room on Big 10 Championship weekend cost an average of $222 per night, which is 49% higher than prices the weekend before and 21% higher than prices this coming weekend.

However, the company says compared to the Big Ten Football Championship last year in Indianapolis, prices were -2% (lower), but still higher than the monthly average of $167.

Their numbers also showed that 93% of hotel bookings were been made by Americans, with top travelers coming into Indianapolis from Ohio, Wisconsin, Virginia, Indiana and California.
