Muncie Factory To Close, 130 Jobs To Be Cut

The workers of the JD Norman factory in Muncie will lose their jobs by the end of the year.

MUNCIE, IN — Indiana is losing a JD Norman Industries factory meaning 130 workers will lose out on jobs. JD Norman gave no reason for closing the Muncie factory, the Associated Press reports.

The 37,000-square-foot factory focused on machined components like coil housings, sprockets and more, the AP reports. They're expected to close fully by the end of December.

Norman bought the factory in 2016 as a part of their acquisition of Henman Engineering and Machine. The employees there don't have a union to represent them, Norman said in their notice to the State of Indiana and the Department of Workforce Development.
