Uber Launches New Rewards System Letting You Earn Free Rides

INDIANAPOLIS, IN — If you have the Uber app and a Visa card, the ride-sharing company just introduced a new way you can use both to score free rides. The new feature, "Visa Local Offers," is a rewards system that allows you to collect Uber credits by using your Visa card at certain stores, according to Uber's website. Just make sure you have the latest Uber app update and a U.S. issued Visa card connected to your Uber account.

To use the new feature, complete these few steps listed at uber.com:

• Open your Uber app
• Tap the bottom of the screen to see your messages
• Enroll in "Visa Local Offers" by finding this message, tapping "Get Started" and finally, tapping "Count Me In"
• Start earning credits by using your enrolled Visa card(s) at featured merchants nearby, some of the thousands of shops and restaurants featured in the program.
