- The Second round of Biden's American Rescue Plan Act, which gave New Orleans a total of $388 million, are being distributed across the city for improvement projects. Some of the remaining $194 million has already been assigned to current projects, including funding new EMS vehicles, a new crime lab and incentive packages for the NOPD. (WGNO New Orleans)
- A shooting on Wednesday afternoon left New Orleans rapper, stage name Charlie Whop, fatally injured. Police responded to the scene around 4:30 PM at the intersection of St. Bernard Avenue and North Broad Street where the 49-year-old rapper was found dead, having been shot multiple times, on the neutral ground. (KLFY.com)
- A woman was shot and injured in the Ninth Ward late Friday morning. Around 11:40 AM, police responded to the scene on Almonaster Avenue, near North Prieur Street, where news crews later reported seeing the parking lot of Cajun Seafood taped off. The woman was transported to the hospital for treatment, and there has been no word yet on her condition. (WGNO)
