Here are the top stories today in New Orleans:

  1. In an update on the high-profile fatal carjacking case of Linda Frickey, where four teens have been accused of second-degree murder in an incident that was caught on video, one suspect has been found incompetent to stand trial. The girl's trial has been delayed and she has been transferred to North Lake for an evaluation because of her depressive state. She will have another competency hearing on May 19. (WDSU New Orleans)
  2. Within 4 hours on Sunday, four separate shootings occurred, resulting in two fatalities and left two victims injured. The first shooting took place at 10 a.m. on North Villere Street where one man was shot and taken to the hospital for treatment but ultimately passed away. Shortly after a man was shot at the intersection of North Claiborne and Esplanade in Treme and was taken to the hospital. Around 11 a.m. the next shooting, which came from a domestic dispute according to investigators, occurred in Algiers on General De Gaulle where a man was declared dead at the scene. The final shooting took place around 1:20 p.m. where one man was shot on North Rampart Street in the French Quarter and was taken to the hospital by EMS. (WWLTV.com)
  3. Woman was discovered deceased in the canal at the intersection of New Orleans and Florida streets. Around 2 p.m. on Sunday afternoon, the NOPD responded to a report of a body at the canal. She was declared dead at the scene and appeared to have died as a result of blunt force trauma to the body and was 56 years old. (FOX 8 Local First)
