Gov. LePage Comments Anger Tourists: AP

Gov. Paul LePage's controversial remarks have reportedly led to some tourists changing travel plans.

Gov. Paul LePage's recent controversial comments have reverberated well outside of Maine and some tourists are reportedly so angered they're changing travel plans.

LePage was recently caught leaving a voicemail for a state representative, calling him a "son-of-a-b----, socialist c---------." He then organized a news conference and said he imagined pointing a gun at the same lawmaker. Those comments followed a public forum where he blamed Maine's drug problem on out-of-state black and Hispanic dealers. LePage later apologized for his comments.

High-ranking lawmakers called on LePage to resign but the governor said he's staying put while seeking "spiritual guidance" to move forward.
