EDGEWATER, MD β€” Business is booming for one Edgewater company. A survey says the local enterprise is among the fastest-growing in America.

Inc., a national business magazine, publishes a list of the 5,000 fastest-growing corporations each year. This year's publication included 14 Anne Arundel County establishments.

Annapolis led the way with six finalists. Though the state capital has the most honorees in the county, Linthicum is home to Anne Arundel's highest-ranked business.

Impact Analytics Inc. came in at no. 575, reporting 809 percent growth between 2016 and 2019. The company offers business products and services.

Anne Arundel County's proximity to Washington helped four government services corporations land on the rankings. The software and construction industries tied for the second most representatives, with each field bringing in two award winners.

Altogether, 149 Maryland enterprises made the list. Baltimore's Hunt A Killer scored the No. 6 spot in the nation and the highest slot in the state. The company posted a 20,485 percent growth rate through its sales of murder mystery board games.

Hunt A Killer was one of 15 Baltimore establishments to be recognized, but one town has even more recipients than Maryland's largest city. Rockville stole the show with 22 mentions. The Montgomery County hub had prizewinners from the health, information technology, government services and software industries among others.

Businesses had to apply and pay $245 to be considered for the list. They also had to meet these conditions:

  • Must have submitted their application by May 29, 2020
  • Must be privately-owned and based in the United States
  • Must have started earning revenue by March 31, 2016
  • Must have had at least at least $100,00 in revenue in 2016
  • Must have had at least $2 million in revenue in 2019
  • Must have had a greater revenue in 2019 than 2016

The full rankings, which came out in late August, are available here.
