ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, MD — Independence Day is fast approaching so it's time to find out where you can celebrate in and around Anne Arundel County. Area events include fireworks, festivals and other Fourth of July fun.

To help you fit it all in on your 4th of July calendar, Patch has put together a guide to what's going on in Anne Arundel County and the surrounding areas.

July 4 Festivities

Annapolis

What: Annapolis 4th of July Celebration (Parade, Live Music and Fireworks)
Where: Parade starts on Amos Garrett Boulevard, heads down West Street, travels the wrong way around Church Circle, goes to the end of Main Street and ends at the Market House. Live music is at City Dock. Fireworks are in the harbor.
When: Thursday, July 4 (Parade starts at 6:30 p.m. Live patriotic music from the Annapolis Junction Big Band starts at 8 p.m. Fireworks start at 9:15 p.m.)

Where: Admiral Heights neighborhood on Sampson Place

Where: American Legion Cummings-Behlke Post 226
When: Saturday, July 6 (Parade starts at noon in American Legion parking lot. Festivities start at 3 p.m. Live music from All You Need starts at 6 p.m. Fireworks start around 9:30 p.m.)

Glen Burnie

What: Glen Burnie Improvement Association Fireworks
Where: Sawmill Creek Park
When: Wednesday, July 3 at 9 p.m. Rain date is Friday, July 5.

Laurel

What: Laurel 4th of July Celebration (Parade, Car Show, Music and Fireworks)
Where: Laurel Lake
When: Saturday, July 6 (Parade starts at 11 a.m. Car show starts at noon. Music starts at 5:15 p.m. Ceremony at 7 p.m. Fireworks at 9:15 p.m. Event ends at 10 p.m.)

What: National Independence Day Parade
Where: Constitutional Avenue

This national parade draws thousands of spectators and features bands, fife and drum corps, floats, military and specialty units, giant balloons, equestrian, drill teams, national dignitaries, celebrity participants and more. The route runs along Constitution Avenue from 7th to 17th Street.

What: A Capitol Fourth Concert
Where: West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol
When: Thursday, July 4 (8 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.)

This Independence Day concert, a tradition for decades, is broadcast live from the West Lawn of the United States Capitol. The lineup includes Smokey Robinson, Fantasia, Darren Criss, Alfonso Ribeiro, military bands and more. It is free and open to the public. Gates will open at 3 p.m. You can also watch it on TV at 8 p.m. EST. Check your local listings for viewing information.

What: Fireworks on the National Mall
Where: National Mall
When: Thursday, July 4 (9:09 p.m.)

The National Park Service will host its annual Independence Day fireworks celebration on the National Mall, The display will start at 9:09 p.m. and will be launched from both sides of the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool.
