Bel Air Pharmacist Honored For Saving Customer’s Life
After someone went into cardiac arrest in a store on Main Street, police recognized the heroic employee who revived him.
BEL AIR, MD — The Bel Air Police Department honored a pharmacist who saved a customer’s life earlier this month.
Pharmacist Crystal Clark saw a customer going into cardiac arrest on Aug. 4 inside the Klein's ShopRite on North Main Street. To get the customer breathing again, she retrieved an AED (automated external defibrillator) inside the store while another customer dialed 911. Police arrived within 2 minutes and witnessed the life-saving actions of Clark.
“I can personally attest to the fact that the customer was not breathing and did not have a pulse,” Officer First Class Keith Smithson told Bel Air Patch. “I was the first officer on scene and just entered the aisle where they were located, right before she used the AED.”

Once Clark used the device, the customer immediately began breathing again, police said.
On Thursday, Aug. 18, the Bel Air Police Department and the Town of Bel Air, represented by the Mayor and Commissioners, recognized Clark for her heroic actions, presenting her with a certificate from the Bel Air Police Department.
