BEL AIR, MD — Lib’s Grill is readying to open its new location in Bel Air. The restaurant plans to welcome customers this Saturday.

Lib’s Grill will serve cuisine centering around steak, seafood and a raw bar.

“Every three or four months, we change the menu,” said Nick Liberatore of Nottingham, who will serve as the responsible operator for the establishment. The eatery has special oysters from the Delaware Bay and offers staples like candied bacon, fish tacos and a pork chop with house-made apple butter, he added. For those who are especially hungry, Liberatore recommended the Baltimore club, which is a triple decker sandwich with a crab cake on one layer, shrimp salad on another layer and bacon, lettuce and tomato.

Liberatore has also worked with Lib’s Grill in Baltimore and Howard counties. To obtain a liquor license in Harford County, the restaurant needed to make a $250,000 investment. It satisfied the requirement, putting in $287,944.68, according to Joseph Snee, the attorney representing Lib’s Grill. He told the Harford County Liquor Control Board on Wednesday that the figure was on the low side, as the restaurant has undergone significant renovations.

The liquor board unanimously approved of the request for the liquor license. Lib's Grill has already received approval from the fire marshal and health department and gotten its use and occupancy permit, Snee said.

“We put a lot of time and effort in this location. We gutted the whole place,” Juan Liberatore, who is part owner, told the liquor board. “It looks beautiful. We hope you guys get a chance to try it and enjoy it.”

The property had been vacant for more than three years. Previously, the space in the Amyclae shopping center housed Half Pints and Terrino's. Most recently, it operated as Della Rose's, which closed in 2019. Some of the funding came from a grant through the state to revitalize vacant properties.

In December 2021, the liquor board gave tentative approval for Lib's Grill to sell beer, wine and liquor. In the months since, it has updated the board on progress.

Lib's Grill will be opening at 5 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 13, and 5 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 14. Regular hours will begin Monday, Aug. 15, Nick Liberatore told Bel Air Patch.

Hours will be 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Monday to Thursday; 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Friday; 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Saturday; and 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Sunday. Bar service and food will be available until 2 a.m.

Lib's Grill is at 1204 Agora Dr, Bel Air, MD 21014.
