BandHouse Gigs celebrates their 20th Anniversary with a Tribute to DC Legends Concert at the Strathmore Music Center this Saturday August 17th at 8:00 pm.
The DC area has been home to some of the most prolific musical talent, spanning nearly every genre. This one-of-a-kind concert pays homage to the eclectic sounds of DC’s diverse music scene with songs by Marvin Gaye, Emmylou Harris, Duke Ellington, Joan Jett, Danny Gatton, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Chuck Brown, Nils Lofgren, Bo Diddley, Dave Grohl, Eva Cassidy & more.
Songs will be performed by talented regional vocalists and musicians, including Daryl Davis, The Chuck Brown Band, Bill Kirchen, Patty Reese, Sean Chyun, Billy Coulter, and former Strathmore Artists in Residence Jess Eliot Myhre and Kaiyla Gross, among many others.
Established in 2004 by local musicians Ronnie Newmyer and Chuck Sullivan, BandHouse Gigs pays homage to iconic artists and influential musical movements through unique tribute concerts. Previous shows at Strathmore include tributes to Joni Mitchell, Paul Simon, The British Invasion, and Woodstock.
