PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — Two different members of the Prince George's County Police Department face charges in separate incidents.

A grand jury indicted Detective Sharrod Wiggins for indecent exposure, second-degree assault, and related charges after being accused of masturbating in public at an LA Fitness Gym in Hyattsville on April 26, State's Attorney Aisha Braveboy announced on Tuesday.

Wiggins, who was off-duty at the time, is accused of exposing himself in the men's restroom at the gym. A future court date has not yet been scheduled.

Meanwhile, PGPD Officer Robert Grimes was charged after being arrested last week for breaking into and causing property damage to an office building in D.C. while he was off duty, according to a PGPD report on Tuesday.

Grimes faces two misdemeanors: second-degree burglary and destruction of property, according to the report, which notes that he was suspended after his arrest. Police say the break-in happened shortly before 3 a.m. on Nov. 24.

"The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Internal Affairs Division has launched an administrative investigation into this matter," the report states. "Any questions about the criminal investigation should be directed to the Metropolitan Police Department."

Grimes is a three-year veteran of the force who was assigned to the Bureau of Patrol.
