PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD β€” A teenage rapper known as Baby K was sentenced to 25 years in prison Friday in connection with the attempted shooting of another teen that unfolded on a Prince George's County school bus in May 2023.

The teen, whose actual name is Kaeden Holland, was 15 when he and three other teens charged onto a PGCPS school bus around 5 p.m. May 1, 2023. Prosecutors said he tried to shoot a student, but the gun malfunctioned.

The victim suffered minor injuries during the assault. Two adults β€” a bus driver and a bus aide β€”were on or near the bus at the time and were uninjured. The incident happened when the bus was stopped at Iverson Street and Sutler Drive in Oxon Hill to drop off students, Patch previously reported.

Holland pleaded guilty to attempted first-degree murder and weapons charges in March. The deal called for a 60-year sentence with all but 25 years suspended.

A judge ordered Holland to serve his time at the Patuxent Institution, a maximum-security, adult prison that offers therapy and counseling programs for youthful offenders, WTOP reported.
