In partnership with Prince George's County Office of the Sheriff, we are collecting backpacks and school supplies from now (July 4) until our Stuff the Cruiser school supply drive event on Friday, August 16th. If you'd like to donate earlier, drop off your donations at IKEA College Park in our donation bins next to the Main Exit.

College Park Arts Exchange is sponsoring a
 Sarod and Tabla concert, featuring two Sarods and two Tablas. Soumya Chakraverty will share the stage with Abir Hussain, who is visiting from India. On the Tabla, we will have Shri Debu Nayak along with Mallar Goswami.
Abir is a brilliant Sarodia from Senia-Shahjahanpur Gharana. He is a
 disciple of Pandit Buddhadev Dasgupta and also Pandit Ajoy 
Chakraborty. He is a Guru of instrumental music at the ITC Sangeet 
Research Academy. Sacred circle dance is a collective dance experience that draws from ancient 

and traditional folk dances, many from Eastern Europe and the Balkans. 
Dancing both traditional and contemporary dances, we will celebrate the 
arrival of autumn, its abundance and beauty, and ground and nurture 
ourselves in this this season of doing. We will dance to cultivate the 
mindfulness needed to move through the autumn with peace, clarity, and 
joy. No dance experience is needed (just basic mobility and 
coordination), as the dances are simple to moderately easy, and the 
dance steps repetitive. This allows the dance to dance us! (The word 
“sacred” describes the space we create. There is no religion affiliated 
with these dances.) 
If you love to dance, come and enjoy this wonderful form of movement meditation!
