Washington, DC (April 28, 2020) – In response to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic in the Greater Washington region, Mary's Center will be able to conduct more testing and critical care at its clinics thanks to a grant from Bank of America, it was announced today.

The grant will support the front-line response efforts that Mary's Center has been making to help flatten the curve in the region, including expansion of tele-medical and other virtual medical services designed to keep participants safe and healthy at home.

"We are grateful for Bank of America's generosity as we face our most dire financial challenges in Mary's Center's 32-year history," says Maria Gomez, President and CEO. "Our priority is to continue providing unparalleled care to our community, and these philanthropic contributions make it possible for us to keep our doors open at this critical time."

Bank of America's funding decision to contribute $100,000 to Mary's Center was based on the Center's reputation for providing culturally competent and affordable care to all, and their dedication to meeting the needs of the community during this trying time.

Bank of America's support will have a direct impact on the health and well-being of the region's most under-resourced families and the community at large. Each appointment with a Mary's Center provider helps to prevent extra visits to the hospital, keeping emergency care accessible for those who need it most.
