COLUMBIA, MD — One of the best places in the country to find a summer job happens to be in Howard County.

WalletHub compared more than 180 markets in the U.S. across 21 key metrics. The data set ranges from the median income of part-time workers to the availability of summer jobs to the commuter-friendliness of jobs.

Columbia ended up ranked sixth overall out of the 180 markets evaluated. The community also placed first for commuter-friendliness of jobs and sixth for the media income of part-time workers.

Baltimore was the next Maryland community on the list ranked overall in the 101st slot.
