Customer Who Argued With Store Employee Guilty Of Assault

A woman who threatened a store employee and whose fiancé showed up later with a gun has been found guilty of the charges filed against her.

HOWARD COUNTY, MD — A woman who threatened a store employee in Laurel has been found guilty of the charges filed against her.

On May 15, Jennifer Moorman walked into a business in the 9700 block of Washington Blvd. She began arguing with an employee then threatened the individual. Less than an hour later, her fiancé Byron Hall showed up at the business with a revolver that he aimed at a customer who he thought was the employee, according to the prosecution.

A police investigation revealed that Moorman and Hall coordinated to commit assault in the first-degree against the store employee. Hall pleaded guilty Dec. 11 to first-degree assault and use of a firearm during a crime of violence. He has been sentenced to 20 years suspend all but 7.5 years for the first-degree assault charge and a consecutive five years for use of a firearm during a crime of violence. Moorman was found guilty this week after a jury trial of first-degree assault, conspiracy to commit assault in the first-degree and use of a firearm during a crime of violence. She will be sentenced at a later date.
