DUI Checkpoint Set Up For Sept. 12 In Howard County

Maryland State Police, the Howard County PD and the State Highway Administration will be watching for impaired drivers Thursday night.

HOWARD COUNTY, MD — A sobriety checkpoint will be set up Thursday, Sept. 26, in Howard County. Troopers from the Maryland State Police Waterloo Barrack, with the assistance of the Howard County Police Department and the State Highway Administration, will be conducting the sobriety checkpoint Thursday night and will have impaired driving saturation patrols throughout the evening.

According to the Maryland State Police, DUI checkpoints and saturation patrols have proven to reduce the number of people killed and injured in alcohol- or drug-related crashes. Motorists are encouraged to drive sober, have a designated driver or use a taxi or other car service.
