Vehicle Fire Snarled I-95 Traffic Near Scaggsville

Traffic was tangled up on Interstate 95 in Howard County Friday morning due to a vehicle fire, officials say.

HOWARD COUNTY, MD — Delays have cleared on Interstate 95 south in the Scaggsville area Friday morning after a vehicle fire caused multiple lane closures. The incident appeared to have cleared by 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 9.

Initially after the vehicle fire, three lanes were closed on I-95 south past the exit for MD 216/Scaggsville Road, the Maryland State Highway Administration around 9:30 a.m.

Traffic was able to get by in the far right lane. It appeared vehicles were at a standstill until about 10 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 9, at which point traffic started moving in the area.
