Cecil College cancels winter sports season

Seahawks are guided by best practices and careful adherence to health and safety protocols.

NORTH EAST, Md. – The Cecil College Athletics Department announced this week the winter sports season for the 2020-2021 academic year will be canceled.

After careful thought, consideration, and dialogue with members of the National Junior College Athletic Association’s Region XX two-year colleges, this decision was made. It was collectively decided that intercollegiate competition for the 2020-2021 indoor sports season was at “high risk” for COVID-19 exposure and spread of infection.

The canceled sports for Cecil College include men’s basketball, women’s basketball, and women’s volleyball.
