HARFORD COUNTY, MD — The treasurer for the Churchville Recreation Council has been sentenced after she admitted to stealing more than $100,000 from the council's funds.

The missing money was reported to the Harford County Sheriff's Office and an investigation was launched. Early in the investigation, Keith claimed she stole between $50,000 and $55,000. "Being placed in a position of trust and then violating that trust is a crime that we take very seriously in Harford County. Recreation councils exist to serve the children of our community and stealing anything from our children, let alone over 1,00,000 people, will not be tolerated. We are encouraged that by the end of the defendant's probationary period, these victims will be made whole," said State's Attorney Allison Healey.
