Crash Closes Darlington Road

A crash has closed Darlington Road Monday afternoon in Harford County.

HARFORD COUNTY, MD — A crash has closed MD 161 in Darlington near the Deer Creek bridge Monday afternoon, according to officials. Authorities said two vehicles were involved.

One was a tractor-trailer, according to the Harford County Volunteer Fire and EMS Association.

The collision on Darlington Road was reported at 1:09 p.m. as a crash requiring rescue, according to Harford County public safety data.

The Darlington Volunteer Fire Company summoned another medic and a hazmat team upon finding an active fuel tank leak, officials said.

After 2:30 p.m., the crash remained classified as an active event, and the road was still closed.

Officials said Route 161 would be closed "for an extended period of time."
