Hatem Bridge Under Wind Warnings

Drivers should use caution crossing the bridge that connects Harford and Cecil counties.

The Hatem Bridge is under wind warnings on Monday, Jan. 10.

Winds of 30 to 39 mph trigger wind warnings, according to the Maryland Transportation Authority, which issued the warning before 10 a.m.

A 37 mph wind gust was reported at the local weather station on the Hatem Bridge after 9:50 a.m., officials said.

Drivers of the following vehicles should use extra caution while crossing the bridge during a wind warning: house trailers, box trailers, motorcycles, vehicles with roof-mount racks containing cargo or any other vehicle that may be subject to high winds.

The Bay Bridge is also under wind warnings, officials said.

State transportation officials advise keeping both hands on the wheel and slowing down during periods of strong winds.
