Havre de Grace Art Walk To Focus On Magic

HAVRE DE GRACE, MD — The Havre de Grace August Art Walk is slated for Saturday, Aug. 14. This year's theme is "The Magic of Art," and people will be able to watch artists engaged in their craft.

A magic show, tarot card readings and a graffiti paint wall are among the offerings.

Street performers will be strolling downtown for the event, which is sponsored by the Havre de Grace Arts Collective and also includes a children's art project.

Here are some of the special events as part of the Havre de Grace August Art Walk:

• Rogue Swan Theatre Company will perform.
• Tim Hall will showcase his skills as a "comedy magician and mind reader" at The State Theater, 325 St. John St. according to organizers. After learning magic tricks, kids will get a free magic souvenir.
• Costumes from "The Hunger Games," "The Magnificent Seven," "The Last Airbender" and other films will be on display through a special guided costume tour at Washington Street Books, 131 N. Washington St.
• Participating restaurants will showcase the "magic of mixology" with special cocktails.

These artists will be featured during the art walk, according to the Havre de Grace Arts Collective: Pauline Copeland, Ron Crouse, Tom & Heather Deno, Karen Dix, Ellie Tryon-Elgin, Shawn Forton, Lisa Gravely, Jo Houtz, Mike Lust, William Rigler, Maggie Sadiq, Susan Sciarra, Linnea Tober, Barbara Wagner and Pam Wilde.

The Havre de Grace August Art Walk will be from 2 to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 14.

In May, the arts collective hosted an art walk with the theme "Art Is Blooming in Havre de Grace."
