HdG Outages Continue After Storm
See what is closed in Havre de Grace after the storm that caused thousands of outages in Harford County.
HARFORD COUNTY, MD — After powerful storms rolled through the region, some in Havre de Grace are still feeling the impacts.
About 1,475 people are without power in Havre de Grace as of 11 p.m. on Wednesday, according to state outage data.
Harford County Public Schools will be closed on Thursday, for the second day in a row, due to storm damage.

"We have several county roads that are closed because of trees and electric wires down," Harford County Emergency Manager Rick Ayers said on Wednesday. "The power companies are working around the clock and have brought in out-of-state crews to assist in the power restoration and to assist our DPW crews in getting the roads opened."
Lapidum Road is closed due to storm damage, according to Maryland State Parks, which advised those going to the Lapidum Road boat ramp at Susquehanna State Park to take an alternate route.

These county roads near Havre de Grace are among the 30-plus that remain closed due to storm damage:
- Oakington Road at Country Club Road
- Robinhood Road at Sherwood Lane
- 2500 block of Old Robinhood Road
- Glenville Road between MD 155 and Cool Branch Road
- 100 block of Cooley Mill Road
- 800 block of Maxa Road
All county libraries will be open as cooling centers or for people to plug in their electrical devices, Ayers said.
"As a safety reminder, please stay away from downed power lines and treat all major intersections without power as a 4-way stop," Ayers said.

In the city, Havre de Grace crews said they were working through clearing up the storm damage as well.
"We are aware of the various trees down and traffic signal outages around the City," the Havre de Grace Police Department reported Tuesday night. "DPW has been notified and will clearing the trees throughout the evening. We are also working with our allied partners to get everything taken care of and back to normal. We thank you for your patience as we are fielding many calls for service in reference to trees down and damages."
To accommodate those cleaning up from the storm, Harford County extended its yard trim dropoff hours.
