HAVRE DE GRACE, MD– When Patch asked Havre de Grace Patch readers to share their best Elf on the Shelf displays at home, they certainly didn't disappoint.

For the uninitiated, Elf on the Shelf arrives every year around Christmastime to watch over children and fly back to Santa each night to report children's naughty or nice deeds. The following morning, the sometimes mischievous elf returns, but to a different area of the home than the night before, proving to the children that Santa's scout elf is always moving around and taking notes.

From an elf perched on coal to a pair whipping up cake in the kitchen, Havre de Grace Patch readers shared their own takes on where Santa's little helpers like to hang out around the house.

One Havre de Grace Patch reader tagged Harford Family House in our callout for Elf on the Shelf photos. The Aberdeen-based nonprofit that helps the homeless in Harford County shared some spots its elf — Krause — popped up this month, including at the playground.
