Hogan Honors 2 HdG Businesses Celebrating Anniversaries

HAVRE DE GRACE, MD — When Gov. Larry Hogan made his whirlwind tour through Harford County recently, he visited multiple spots in Havre de Grace, including two celebrating milestones.

The governor had lunch at MacGregor's, where he presented a citation to celebrate the restaurant's 35th anniversary this week.

"To be recognized today was absolutely the exclamation mark to 'We did it' — we are celebrating our 35th year!" MacGregor's posted on its Facebook page afterward. "Proud to say the old girl is holding up very well. Stay tuned for Anniversary announcements."

At the end of his visit, Hogan stopped at Hopkins Farm Brewery, which celebrated its two-year anniversary on Saturday. It will have bull riding and fireworks during its carnival on Sept. 4 (they were slated for Saturday but were postponed due to the weather).

During the governor's visit to the city, he also toured the living shoreline project, which is made possible in part through the Maryland Department of Natural Resources.

He also stopped at businesses in downtown Havre de Grace, including Les Petit Bisous, which received funding through Project Restore to revitalize downtowns and Main Streets across the state.

The day began with an announcement in Street about the $127 million investment in broadband statewide through an initiative called Connect Maryland, which is increasing connectivity for 15,000 households across the state, Hogan said. It includes more than $2.2 million for Harford County, where some in the community he visited received broadband access last week, he said.

Hogan's visit also included a trip to the Klein Family Harford Crisis Center in Bel Air and the Boys & Girls Club of Harford and Cecil Counties in Aberdeen.
