Maxine Deel, 91, of Havre de Grace

Maxine Deel, 91, of Havre de Grace, passed away at home on June 5, 2018. Born in McComas, West Virginia, she was the daughter of Charles Henderson Murphy and Grace Mae (Freeman) Murphy. She was the devoted wife of the late Harold Deel for 47 years.

Mrs. Deel was a dedicated member of Edgewood Assembly of God, and sang in the church choir. She was a long-time member and officer of The Eastern Star. Mrs. Deel was a voracious reader, often completing five novels a week. She was a competitive golfer,enjoyed bowling, and volunteered at Harford Memorial Hospital.

Mrs. Deel enjoyed spoiling her cat Franny.Mrs. Deel is survived by four sons: Jeffrey L. Deel (Amy) of Havre de Grace, Charles B. Deel (Denise) of Aberdeen, Richard J. Deel of Aberdeen, and Ronald L. Deel (Henrietta) of Greensboro; sister, Joyce Bower of Bluefield, WV; grandchildren, Josef, Tyler, Galena, Bryan, Lisa, Madison, Sarah, Sean, Penny and Kelly; and numerous great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. on Friday, June 8, at the Edgewood Assembly of God Church, 803 Edgewood Road Edgewood, MD 21040.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 8, at Edgewood Assembly of God, 803 Edgewood Road Edgewood, MD 21040.

Burial will be at Bel Air Memorial Cemetery, 809 Rock Spring Road, Bel Air, MD 21014.
