Mile-Long Delays Possible On Route 22: Police

The Aberdeen Police Department issued an advisory due to mass vaccination, graduation, Little League and hotel traffic.

ABERDEEN, MD — Due to events at Ripken Stadium, officials say there may be delays on MD 22 in Aberdeen in the next week.

Graduation ceremonies are planned from May 24 to 29 at Leidos Field at Ripken Stadium.

Those attending graduations, going to the hotel or Cal Sr. Little League should use the let lane once they turn onto Long Drive.

People coming to get the COVID-19 vaccine at the stadium, which is offering a drive-thru mass vaccination clinic, should use the right lane.

Delays could be 1 mile in either direction along MD 22 near Long Drive/Technology Drive, according to the Aberdeen Police Department.

"Please remain focused on driving and do not become distracted," police advised. "A traffic crash would greatly prolong your movement through this area."
