New HdG City Engineer Is ‘Forward Thinker,’ Mayor Says

Mayor William T. Martin announced today the appointment of Tim Whittie to the position of City Engineer. Mr. Whittie will remain in his current role as director of public works until July 1, 2022.

Mr. Whittie holds a B.S in Engineering from the University of Maryland, College Park. Before his most recent appointment, Mr. Whittie spent the last 30 years in senior-level management positions in both the private and public sectors, previously serving as the Director of Public Works for Harford County and the City of Havre de Grace.

“As director of public works, Tim created a legacy that includes modernizing and transforming the way the City of Havre de Grace manages public works ,” Mayor William T. Martin said. “An invaluable senior leader, Tim has built a reputation as a forward thinker who always puts his team before himself. I will always be grateful for his service and look forward to continuing to work with him.”

In accordance with the Havre de Grace City Charter, Mayor Martin has begun the process of finding the City’s next director of public works.
