Pole Falls On MD 155, Prompting Closure: Officials

Traffic was bidirectional on one side of Level Road due to the incident, according to state transportation officials.

CHURCHVILLE, MD — A downed pole closed MD 155/Level Road in one direction in Harford County for several hours Monday, according to authorities.

Authorities with the Maryland State Highway Administration said the pole fell around 7:30 a.m.

The southbound side of Route 155 was closed, while the northbound side handled traffic for both directions of travel, state transportation officials reported.

By 1:40 p.m., authorities said Route 155 had reopened at Glenville Road.

A wind advisory had been issued overnight for Harford County and the Baltimore region due to the potential for gusts up to 50 mph.

Winds may be up to 33 mph in Harford County, according to the National Weather Service forecast, which called for a high in the mid 50s Monday.
