Warriors To Play Saturday In MPSSAA State Football Semifinals

The Havre de Grace Warriors will be headed to Cumberland this weekend for the state football playoffs.

HAVRE DE GRACE, MD — The Havre de Grace Warriors will compete in the MPSSAA class 1A football playoffs this week. Havre de Grace will take on Fort Hill on Saturday, Nov. 24.

The Warriors, 8-2, will seek to break the Sentinels' winning streak, as that team is 9-0.

In 2016 and 2015 the Warriors faced off against the Sentinels in the state championship, which Fort Hill claimed four years in a row.

In 2017 the Sentinels were defeated by the Dunbar Owls, 30-26, according to the MPSSAA.

Dunbar, 9-0, is also in the playoffs this year and will take on Douglass, 5-4, Saturday at Baltimore Polytechnic Institute.

The Warriors-Sentinels game will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 24, at Greenway Avenue Stadium, 601 Greenway Avenue, Cumberland, MD 21502.
