Wind Warning in Effect at Tydings Bridge

The bridge between Harford and Cecil counties is one of several where wind warnings have been issued Wednesday.

The Maryland Transportation Authority has issued a wind warning at the Tydings Bridge on Wednesday, March 2.

Winds of 30 to 39 mph trigger wind warnings, transportation officials say.

Drivers of the following vehicles should use extra caution while crossing the bridge during a wind warning:

  • house trailers
  • box trailers
  • motorcycles
  • vehicles with roof-mount racks containing cargo
  • any other vehicle that may be subject to high winds

State transportation officials advise keeping both hands on the wheel and slowing down amid high winds.

There is also a gale warning in effect for the Chesapeake Bay, according to the National Weather Service, which said that the forecast in Havre de Grace called for wind gusts up to 37 mph.
