The Maryland Transportation Authority issued a wind warning Friday for two bridges across the state. The Tydings and Bay bridges are under wind warnings, officials said before noon.

Winds of 30 to 39 mph trigger wind warnings, transportation officials say.

Wind gusts were 35 mph at the Tydings Bridge and at the Hatem Bridge, according to state transportation officials.

During a wind warning, drivers of these vehicles should use extra caution while crossing bridges: house trailers, box trailers, motorcycles, vehicles with roof-mount racks containing cargo or any other vehicle that may be subject to high winds.

State transportation officials advise keeping both hands on the wheel and slowing down during periods of strong winds.
