Wind Warnings Issued For 2 Bridges In Maryland

A bridge connecting Harford and Cecil counties is under a wind warning Friday, officials say.

The Hatem Bridge is under wind warnings, according to the Maryland Transportation Authority.

Before 10:15 a.m. on Friday, the agency placed both the Hatem and Bay bridges under the warnings.

Winds of 30 to 39 mph trigger wind warnings, according to the Maryland Transportation Authority.

Drivers of the following vehicles should use extra caution while crossing the bridge during wind warnings: house trailers, box trailers, motorcycles, vehicles with roof-mount racks containing cargo or any other vehicle that may be subject to high winds.

State transportation officials advise keeping both hands on the wheel and slowing down during periods of strong winds.
